Exide Industries has posted a 66.5 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 52.33 crore for FY03 as against Rs 31.42 crore in FY02.
Total income (net of excise) has increased 11.5 per cent to Rs 879.91 crore from Rs 788.74 crore.
Exide has posted a net profit of Rs 17.02 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2003 when compared with Rs 7.78 crore for the corresponding quarter last fiscal.
Total income (net of excise) has increased to Rs 240.67 crore from Rs 216.25 crore.
The board has recommended a bonus issue of equity shares in the ratio of one equity share for one share held by the existing shareholders, the company said in a release to the BSE on Friday.
