Bus and auto fares in the national capital are likely to go up after Indraprastha Gas Ltd announced a hike in the price of compressed natural gas for transport vehicles from July 1.
A kilogram of CNG in Delhi presently costs Rs 16.88 and from July 1 it will cost around Rs 18.08 per kg.
The hike follows government decision to raise price of natural gas supplied to Indraprastha Gas Ltd by 12 per cent to Rs 3,200 per thousand cubic metres. IGL gets natural gas from GAIL Ltd and converts it into CNG for sale through dispensing units.
