Global financial company Citigroup said on Monday it has hired nine people, including Keshav Sanghi, as part of the move to strengthen its India equity team.
Keshav Sanghi, who has joined Citigroup Global Markets as managing director and deputy head of equities (India), was Reliance Equities CEO earlier.
The combined experience of the newly expanded talent pool is over 100 years in equity markets, which include hires across sales, trading and execution, Citi said in a statement.
"We remain committed to our clients in continuing to invest in our market leading Indian equities franchise across both the primary and secondary markets.
To this end, Citi has made a number of significant hires across the sales and execution platforms in recent months," Citigroup Global Markets MD and head of equities (India) Nikhil Nagle said.
"These hires have further strengthened Citi's presence in the Indian equities market to over 25 highly talented and motivated individuals," Nagle added. Other new appointees are Chandra Sekaran (Equity Sales Trading director), Abhijit Attavar (India Trading director), Andrew Sutcliffe (Equity Sales trading director), Abhinav Khanna and Suveer Chainani (Equity Sales directors). Besides, Vaibhav Shintre has joined as execution trader in Citigroup's india equity team.
Among others who have joined Citi India team in the past few months include Richard Macfarlane as MD and Head of Execution Services. With over 15 years of equity research experience, Vandana Luthra has joined as MD Equity Sales.
