China makes 70% of world's toys

China has become the world's toy manufacturing centre, with up to 70 per cent of the world's toys carrying the label, 'Made in China.'

According to statistics, Chinese toy exporters number more than 8,000 and produce more than 30,000 different types of toys. The toys are exported to more than 100 countries.

"Toys have become one of China's five largest export items," China News Service reported.

At the same time, there have been numerous incidents of Chinese toys being recalled from foreign countries, causing enormous economic losses to some companies while having a negative impact on the reputation of the country's toy industry, the report said.
