More constables for rail security

The Railways will recruit 3500 constables to strengthen the existing security system, Railway Minister Nitish Kumar announced on Wednesday.

He said active consultations are on with the concerned ministries to give a final shape to the proposal to amend the Railway Protection Force Act and Railway Act to provide enhanced powers to the RPF, he said, while presenting the Railway Budget.
