Bharti Televentures on Thursday posted a 43 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs 521 crore (Rs 5.21 billion) for the second quarter ended September 30, 2005 over the same period in previous fiscal.
The company's consolidated revenues for the quarter was up 46 per cent year-on-year at Rs 2,709 crore (Rs 27.09 billion), the company said in New Delhi.
EBITDA (Earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation in amortisation) during the second quarter grew 47 per cent year-on-year at Rs 1,021 crore (Rs 10.21 billion). The figures of the second quarter results are according to the US GAAP.
Revenues and net profit for the first half ended September 30, 2005 propped up Rs 5,000 crore (Rs 50 billion) and 1,000 crore (Rs 10 billion) respectively.
The company's revenues for H1, stood at Rs 5,226 crore (Rs 52.26 billion) while net profit touched 1,031 crore (Rs 10.31 billion).
The company added the highest ever net addition of 19.4 lakh customers in a single quarter for the second quarter this fiscal.
