France eyes Himachal for business ventures

France has expressed interest in setting up hydel power projects besides investing in food processing industries and water treatment projects in Himachal Pradesh.

In a meeting with Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal in Shimla on May 28, a French delegation said they would study various projects and visit prospective sites before taking up projects in the state.

Dhumal informed about the government's priorities and said the state would welcome foreign investment.

Darragon Philippe, global director, Martin M Acintec, director, France-India division accompanied by Indian representatives for Acintec Paris-France, called on Dhumal.

The delegation assured the chief minister that Acintec Paris-France would make available the latest technology for food processing industries and waste treatment projects in the state.
