Pressure map: England vs Canada
By Srinivas Bhogle
March 19, 2007

The Rediff.com expert felt that an English total of 279/6 was at least 100 runs more than what Canada could chase, even though Flintoff was missing from the English attack. At the start of Canada's innings, its pressure index (PI) was therefore a daunting 173.

The chase never got going. Every time some sort of a partnership started developing, England hit back with a wicket or two.

The PI was 161 when Canada were 51/2 after 10 overs, and dropped modestly to 145 when a decent partnership took Canada to 132/4 after 30 overs.

Canada's best point in the chase was when they were 160/4 after 34 overs. But then Bopara got Mulla for a brave 58 and Panesar cleaned up Samad.

Canada did well to return for the loss of only 7 wickets, but the match was lost before they had even faced their first ball.
