You can now get live cricket scores of the ongoing cricket World Cup matches on landline phones as well.

But the Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited will provide this service to its landline and mobile phone users only in Delhi.

"MTNL Delhi has come out with a unique initiative for their landline and mobile users. MTNL has made a special arrangement to bring live cricket scores to their customers in Delhi. To get the latest cricket updates of all the matches played by India starting from March 17, all customers need to do is dial 24012401 from their landline phone," a media release issued by the telecom operator said.

A similar service has been started for its subscribes who use Garuda, Trump and Dolphin mobile connections. These users need to sms CRI to 2001 to know the latest score.

This is the first time that a public sector undertaking has shown interest in cricket World Cup.
