April 15, 2010 10:47 IST

Top seed Caroline Wozniacki breezed into the third round of the Family Circle Cup with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Czech Barbora Zahlavova Strycova on Wednesday.

The World No 2, who triumphed in Ponte Vedra, Florida last week, broke her Czech challenger's serve five times on the green clay of the stadium court at the $700,000 event.

The 19-year-old Dane, who had a first round bye here, heads the Charleston field following the withdrawal of World No 1 Serena Williams.

In other second-round action, third seed Victoria Azarenka of Belarus was forced to retired while leading 6-2 2-2 against American qualifier Christina McHale.

Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia advanced with a 6-4 2-0 win after Japan's Ayumi Morita limped out with an adductor muscle injury.
