American Katie Ledecky set a world record for the women’s 1500 metres freestyle at the world swimming championships on Tuesday.
Ledecky's time of 15 minutes 25.48 seconds broke the previous record of 15:27.71 she set in the 1500m heats on Monday.
Britain's Peaty breaks 50 metres breaststroke world record
Meanwhile, Britain's Adam Peaty broke the men's 50 metres breaststroke world record.
Peaty's time of 26.42 seconds broke the previous record of 26.62 seconds set by South Africa's Cameron van der Burgh in the morning heats earlier on Tuesday.
