India's national champion Saurav Ghosal defeated Adrian Waller of England in the opening round to set up a clash against second seed Gregory Gaultier of France in the PSA men's world squash championship in Cairo on Friday.
In the first round, Ghosal notched up a fighting 11-7, 11-13, 11-9, 12-10 win over Adrian Waller of England.
Ghosal is the lone Indian male in the main draw after qualifier Mahesh Mangaonkar went down to the eighth seeded Miquel Rodriguez of Colombia 4-11, 11-9, 11-6, 11-3.
