The Indian men's and women's doubles teams crashed out of the World Badminton Championships after losing their respective third-round matches in Paris.
After making it to the quarter-finals in the mixed doubles, Jwala Gutta failed to repeat the performance with Ashwini Ponnappa in the women's doubles, going down to sixth seeds Jung Eun Ha and Ming Jung Kim 21-14, 21-15.
The match that lasted 29 minutes was littered with unforced errors by the Indians. Even though they had openings to make a match of it, Jwala and Ashwini couldn't force the issue.
In the men's doubles, 15th seeds Rupesh Kumar and Sanave Thomas also failed to continue their good run when they lost to eighth seeds Lars Paaske and Jonas Rasmussen of Denmark 21-16, 21-16.
Saina Nehwal will play sixth seed Shixian Wang of China in the quarter-finals while the mixed doubles team of ninth seeds V Diju and Jwala Gutta will take on 12 seeds Sung Hyun Ko and Jung Eun Ha of South Korea in their last eight encounter.
