David Oliver wins 110m hurdles as Merritt flops

American David Oliver won the gold medal, as favourite Aries Merritt finished a disappointing sixth, in the men's 110 metres hurdles at the World Athletics Championships in Moscow, on Monday.

Oliver was first in 13 seconds, with compatriot Ryan Wilson taking silver in 13.13s.

Russia's Sergey Shubenkov settled for bronze in 13.24s.

Olympic champion and World record holder Aries Merritt finished a disappointing sixth with a timing of 13.31.
