When Suarez embarrassed PSG's Luis

Within weeks of his arrival at Barcelona a lot of people questioned his inclusion in the team, but slowly he cemented his place, taking the pressure off the mercurial Lionel Messi.

A goal from Neymar and a Suarez double ended Paris St Germain's 33-game unbeaten home run in Europe as Barcelona won the Champions League first leg quarter-final 3-1.

In the 67th minute the Uruguayan, who signed for Barca from Liverpool for 81 million euros (64.14 million pounds) despite the ban for biting Giorgio Chiellini when playing against Italy in the World Cup in Brazil, danced past substitute David Luiz and Marquinhos before poking the ball past Sirigu to make it 2-0 to Barca, who had lost 3-2 in Paris in the group stage earlier in the season.

Then, in the 79th minute, Suarez ran unchallenged through the middle and curled a shot into the top corner, only for Van der Wiel to reduce the arrears three minutes later when his low shot was deflected into the net by Mathieu.

Suarez, who joined Barcelona on a five-year-deal, was the English Premier League's top scorer last season with 31 goals as Liverpool ended two points behind champions Manchester City and earned a return to Champions League for the first time since the 2009-10 season.
