Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has described star Barcelona forward Lionel Messi as an "extra-terrestrial" who "plays with us humans."

The 37-year-old goalkeeper added ahead of the Champions League final in Berlin that the squad hopes that on June 6 Messi returns to earth and becomes a human too, BBC reported.

The duo go to head-to-head in this weekend's Champions League final, with Argentina's 27-year-old footballer, who has scored 58 goals for Barcelona this season, bidding to become the first player to score in three Champions League finals.

His partnership with Brazil's Neymar and Uruguay's Luis Suarez has brought Barcelona 120 goals this season, helping the Catalans to the La Liga title and the Copa Del Rey.

Buffon, who has won 147 Italy caps, added that he think it's the strongest attacking trio in the world, noting that they have an offensive power that is certainly scary, but they also have weapons, not maybe to stop them with but to limit them a bit.
