Legendary golfer Tiger Woods teed off during an exhibition match at a quiet, private event at the Delhi Golf Club (DGC) on Monday.
The world No. 1 missed an eagle putt but birdied the par 5 hole. In the second hole, Woods landed a shot just four feet away from the pin, missing it by a whisker.
Woods was brought to India by Hero MotoCorp, who’s CEO and Managing Director, Pawan Munjal is an avid golfer. Woods is likely to play a few holes with Munjal and some of his guests.
Before Woods began his lucrative exhibition round, TV presenter Alan Wilkins asked the veteran golfer if he was nervous, and he joked: "Ya, I am nervous."
The President of Indian Golf Union, meanwhile, presented Tiger with a memento for his first visit to India.
More than 2000 people were present at the golf course to get a glimpse of the World No. 1 golfer.
Cricketers Madal Lal and Murali Karthik were also among the invitees.
World Sport Group had negotiated with Tiger's management to arrange for his visit to the country.
