Indian tennis ace Leander Paes and Andre Begemann of Germany went down to local hero Denis Istomin and Mikhail Elgin of Russia in the doubles finals at the ninth edition of the $125000 Tashkent ATP Challenger at the Olympic Tennis School in Tashkent on Friday.
Russian Mikhail Elgin and Uzbek Denis Istomin scored a 6-4, 6-2 win over third seeds Paes and Begemann to claim the title. The winners of the event will bag 125 ATP points and win $7750 while the runners up grabbed $4500 and 75 points.
Denis Istomin also placed himself in line for the double crown reaching the finals in the singles where he will clash with fifth seeded Konstantin Kravchuk.
