British businesswoman Susanna Dinnage has been appointed as the new chief executive of the English Premier League.
Dinnage will take hold of the position in early 2019 replacing Richard Scudamore who had been in charge of the position for 20 years.
Expressing excitement over her appointment, Dinnage said that it is a great privilege to lead a "dynamic" and "inspirational" organisation like Premier League while hoping to take the League forward with the support of the clubs.
"I am excited at the prospect of taking on this fantastic role. The Premier League means so much to so many people. It represents the pinnacle of the professional sport and the opportunity to lead such a dynamic and inspirational organization is a great privilege," CNN quoted Dinnage, as saying.
"With the support of clubs and the team, I look forward to extending the success of the League for many years to come," she added.
Dinnage is currently serving as the global president of Discovery's Animal Planet.
