Joshna Chinappa, Ghoshal bag grand doubles

Tamil Nadu's Saurav Ghoshal and Joshna Chinappa clinched a double crown each in the Indian Oil Open Squash tournament winning the men and Under-19 boys and women's and under-19 girls titles respectively in Mumbai on Saturday.

Chennai based Joshna Chinappa first sidelined her second seeded citymate Sonali Philip 9-1, 9-0, 9-0 in the Under-19 event and later defeated third seed Alisha Mashruwala of Mumbai 9-4, 9-6, 9-5 for the double crown.

Ghoshal, who subdued Vikas Jangra of Indian Navy 9-7, 9-4, 9-0 for the Under-19 title, demolished second seed and former National champion Manish Chotrani of Mumbai 9-7, 9-1, 9-3 to complete the domination.

Ghoshal pocketed Rs 50,000 for winning the men event while Chotrani had to be content with Rs 25,000. Joshna took home Rs 20,000 for winning the women's title while Alisha got Rs 10,000.

Top seed Ravi Dixit of Delhi won the boys under-13 title with a hard fought 9-2, 9-3, 9-10, 2-9, 9-4 win over second seed Aditya Jagtap of Mumbai.

Results (all finals) boys under-11: Mahesh Mangaonkar bt Abhishek Pradhan 10-9, 8-10, 9-5, 4-9, 9-7.

Under-13: Ravi Dixit bt Aditya Jagpat 9-2, 9-3, 9-10, 2-9, 9-4.

Under-15: Vikram Malhotra bt Laxman Joshi 9-3, 9-7, 9-0.

Under-17: Sandeep Jangra bt Manek Mathur 9-0, 9-0, 9-1.

Under-19: Saurav Ghoshal bt Vikas Jangra 9-7, 9-4, 9-0.

Men: S Ghoshal bt Manish Chotrani 9-7, 9-1, 9-3.

Girls under-11: Sachika Balwani bt A Anaika 9-7, 8-10, 9-4, 9-7.

Under-13: Aniwesha Reddy bt Harita Om Prakash 9-0, 9-1, 9-3

Under-15: Surbi Mishra bt Aniwesha Reddy 9-1, 10-8, 4-9, 9-4.

Under-17: Alisha Mashruwala bt Surbi Mishra 9-3, 9-0, 9-4.

Under-19: Joshna Chinappa bt Sonali Philip 9-1, 9-0, 9-0.

Women: J Chinappa bt Alisha Mashruwala 9-4, 9-6, 9-5.
