Michael White became the youngest ever winner of the world amateur crown when he beat Mark Boyle of Scotland 10-5 in the final of the IBSF World Snooker Grand Prix in Prestatynm UK, on Friday.
The 14-year-old from Wales won the best of 19 frames final 10-5 [60-58, 66(55)-18, 63-51, 67-81, 49-71(65), 81-34, 80(80)-0, 82-16, 0-74(73), 8-66, 102(102)-0, 69-62, 50-56, 88-25, 79(72)-1].
"It's amazing to be the youngest-ever winner and it'll take some time to sink in," said White, who had beaten India's Alok Kumar in the semi-finals.
White, who is in the Guinness Book of Records for being the youngest player at nine years to make a competitive century break, will now be looking to take his exploits in the amateur game to the professional ranks once he turns 16.
