India's shot gun shooters have shot a letter to National Rifle Association of India, demanding that the money they spent for accommodation during a camp early this year, be reimbursed.

The NRAI has confirmed receiving the letter last week but claims that shooters themselves are responsible for the delay, as they did not submit the bills at once and as late as May.

Rajiv Bhatia, NRAI General Secretary, said it is the Sports Authority of India, which has to clear the payment, and they have just forwarded the bills to SAI.

"The shooters were asked by the SAI to manage accommodation on their own and promised to pay them later. The shooters did not submit the bills at once and the last bill came as late as in May," Bhatia said.

"SAI gave us the money which is Rs 3,42,000 on Friday but we do not know the break-up. We have written to SAI to tell the due of each shooter and will reimburse the money," Bhatia said without revealing the names of the shooters.

Another issue, which the shooters have raised, is about the ammunition for practice but Bhatia said they have no role in it, as it is SAI, which releases the ammunition.

"It is SAI which was to release ammunition to shooters in June but they refuse to release 'no camp was on'," Bhatia said.

Hitting back at the complainants, Bhatia said the issue has been raked up by the non-performers.

"They are those, who have not done well. And they have made this habit of dragging NRAI into issues in which we have no role at all," he said.
