Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza overcame strong resistance from Leticia Sobral of Brazil to enter the semi-finals in the US $10,000 Regione House ITF clay tournament, in Compobasso, Italy, on Friday.
Sania won the quarter-final 6-4, 5-7, 6-3.
On Thursday, she shocked second seed Salome Davidze of Georgia 6-4, 6-0 in the pre-quarter-finals after beating Alexia Virgilli of Itlay 6-4, 6-0 in the third round.
