India's new tennis hope Sania Mirza will be trained by Bob Brett, who has earlier coached Boris Becker and Goran Ivanisevic.
Mirza, the winner of Wimbledon girls' doubles title this year, will work with Brett at his newly-opened academy in San Remo in northern Italy.
According to information received from Brett's academy, the Monte Carlo-based star coach agreed to train Mirza on the recommendations of Mahesh Bhupathi.
Mirza's tryst with Brett, who has been coaching for 20 years, begins this year-end or early January.
Mirza, who became the first Indian girl to win a Grand Slam with the Wimbledon victory, will train in phases and is expected to make at least five trips to San Remo in the next one year.
Though the deal with Brett is almost final, Hyderabad-based Mirza is still to raise the expenses and is depending heavily on a grant promised by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandra Babu Naidu.
Besides, Bhupathi, whose company Globosport manages Mirza's tennis, is in talks with some companies to sponsor the promising girl.
