The Indo-Czech pair of Sania Mirza and Barbora Strycova suffered a straight-sets defeat against Canadian-Chinese pair of Gabriela Dabrowski and Xu Yifan in the Women's Doubles final of Miami Open on Sunday.
The third-seeded pair was defeated by the unseeded Canadian-Chinese duo 6-4, 6-3.
Down a break to start the match, Dabrowski and Xu took eight of the next nine games to lead by a set and 4-1. They served the title out to win their first Premier Mandatory title.
Mirza and Strycova were playing in their fifth finals together, having won in Cincinnati and Tokyo in 2016.
Before this tournament, the Canadian-Chinese duo had never been on the same court for a match -- as partners or as opponents -- but practiced together at the BNP Paribas Open.
They became the first women from their respective countries to win in Miami.
