The duo departed from the Rajiv Gandhi International airport in Hyderabad.
Six-time grand slam champion Sania and Ankita will compete in the doubles event at the Tokyo Games. Sania qualified for the Games on the basis of her injury-protected ranking of No. 9.
This is Sania's record fourth appearance at the Olympics while Ankita will be making her debut at the Games.
