Karan Rastogi's campaign in the US $15,000 ITF event in Kuwait came to a screeching halt on Friday when he conceded his semi-final due to a back problem.
Fifth seed Rastogi was up against sixth seeded Australian Miles Armstorng but did not take the court because of a back problem.
He had withdrawn from the two US $50,000 Challenger tournaments, in New Delhi last month, due to the injury.
He returns to the country on Sunday and is next scheduled to play an ITF Futures tournament in Iran from June 16.
