The Indian youngster was beaten 5-7, 1-6 by Italian Alessandro Giannessi in 76 minutes.
After putting up a good fight in the first set, the 21-year-old Indian was all at sea against the Italian in the second as he dropped service thrice.
Saketh Myneni is other Indian left in the draw.
He will meet 22-year-old Mitchell Krueger of the United States in the second round.
