India's Saurav Ghosal advanced to the second round of the Qatar PSA World Squash Championship, beating Abdulla Mohd Al Tamimi in straight games in Doha on Saturday.
Ghosal took just 30 minutes to see off 17-year-old Qatari wildcard Tamimi 11-5, 11-4, 11-9 in the first round of the premier championship on the PSA World Tour.
World No 21, Ghosal, will lock horns with Egypt's Karim Abdel Gawad in the second round at the Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex. The Egyptian recorded the first seeding upset in the championship when he defeated England's 14th seed Tom Richards 9-11, 11-6, 4-11, 11-5, 11-7 in 68 minutes.
However, Ghosal's compatriot Siddharth Suchde was shown the door in the first round by Germany's Simon Rosner when he beaten 3-11, 4-11, 5-11, in 38 minutes.
