Amid increasing speculation surrounding his potential move to Real Madrid, Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba believes that Cristiano Ronaldo should win the coveted Ballon d'Or trophy following victories in the Champions League and Euro 2016 finals.

Despite being stretched off with a knee injury in the final, the Real Madrid superstar encouraged his teammates, issuing tactical instructions from sidelines to inspire Portugal to their first ever international trophy in Paris.

And therefore, Ronaldo is being widely considered as the favourite to lift his fourth individual crown ahead of arch-rival Lionel Messi.

"I'd give the Ballon d'Or to Ronaldo, he won the Champions League and the European Chamionship," Pogba was quoted as saying by Spanish newspaper Marca. "I like both [Ronaldo and Messi], but Antoine Griezmann has also had a wonderful year."

31-year-old Ronaldo played a key role in Portugal's Euro Championship campaign, scoring a crucial brace in a 3-3 draw with Hungary that took them through to the last-16 round and then the opener in the 2-0 semi-final win over Wales.
