A riot broke out outside the presidential palace where the mortal remains of Diego Maradona lay in state in Buenos Aires on Thursday.
Thousands gathered outside the Casa Rosada to pay their last respects to the Argentine football legend but trouble started when people who were in the queue reportedly started throwing bottles at the police outside the presidential palace.
A riot broke out here after and police were forced to fire water cannons on the crowd. Some people were also detained as they confronted the police.
According to reports, there were instances of several robberies as people were robbed off their mobile phones in the melee outside the presidential palace.
