Slovak tennis star Dominika Cibulkova's defeat to Elena Vesnina in the quarter-finals at Wimbledon had a silver lining.
Cibulkova originally had booked her wedding for July 9 but she never imagined the possibility of it clashing with the Wimbledon women's final.
The 27-year-old didn't fancy her chances at making the final but all that changed when she upset Agnieszka Radwanska to make it to the quarters. Many wondered aloud whether she'd postpone the nuptial if she reached the title round.
However, the 19th seeded player's winning streak came to an end after she was defeated by Russia’s Elena Vesnina.
The talented player took the loss in her stride and focused her energy into her nuptials.
She married her engineer fiancé Miso Navara in Bratislava on Saturday.
They have been together since 2010 and got engaged in 2012.
