Dipika Pallikal registered a come from behind victory over local challenger Liu Tsz Ling to enter the second round of the Cathay Pacific Sun Hung Kai Financial Hong Kong Open.
Pallikal, seeded 12th, showed great skill and determination to win her first round match, in the PSA World Series squash event at the Hong Kong Squash Centre, 7-11, 11-6, 11-1, 11-5.
The Chennai girl will meet third seed Jenny Duncalf of England next.
In the men's section, India's Siddharth Suchde lost to Ryan Cuskelly of Australia 6-11, 4-11, 4-11 in the qualifying final.
In the first qualifying round, Suchde defeated Hong Kong's Alex Lau 11-6, 11-2, 11-5 in 30 minutes.
