Earlier athlete Sudha Singh, who competed in the 3000 m steeplechase event, was found to be infected with the highly contagious H1N1 virus.

Jaisha had earlier alleged that Athletics Federation of India officials 'did not arrange for water and energy drinks' during her 42-km road race that was held under scorching heat at the Olympics, due to which she nearly died while running, a claim denied by the AFI.
India's middle and long distance coach Nikolai Snesarev had clarified that the 33-year-old athlete had herself 'refused personalised drinks' during the race.
