Nikhil Kanetkar lost his second round match in the Olympic badminton singles event in Athens on Tuesday.
The Indian southpaw lost to former world champion and sixth seed Peter Gade of Denmark 10-15, 6-15.
Kanetkar had beaten Sergio Llopis of Spain in the first round.
Late on Monday night, Abhinn Shyam Gupta was beaten in his first round match. He lost to the fancied Park Tae Sang of Korea 12-15, 0-15.
