Former American footballer O.J Simpson’s Nevada criminal case will go to a parole board for his conviction in 2008 for kidnapping and armed robbery of two sports collectible dealers.

Simpson was convicted of 12 criminal counts and sentenced to nine to 33 years in prison.

According to Fox News, the hearing is scheduled for July 25 and comes as a Clark County District Court Judge Linda Marie Bell weighs whether Simpson deserves a new trial.

During a weeklong hearing in May, Simpson lawyers argued that he deserves a new trial because his previous attorneys botched the case that led to his conviction, the report added.
