February 27, 2004 22:04 IST

Churchill Brothers and JCT, Phagwara, played an exciting 2-2 draw in a National Football League match in Ludhiana on Friday.

Baldeep Singh and Harvinder Singh scored for JCT while Benjamin Ansah scored twice for Churchill.

The draw enabled Churchill to stay in the second spot. Though Churchill and JCT have 22 points each, they occupy the second position on account of a superior goal average.

Churchill will play their next match on March 5 against Indian Bank while JCT will lock horns with another Goan outfit in the form of Haywards Sporting on March 7 at Ludhiana.
