'Losing is part of the sport, we try everything, we fight until the end.'
Losing is part of the sport, a dejected Neymar said after Paris Saint Germain lost the Champions League final to Bayern Munich, in Lisbon.
The Brazilian striker failed to deliver in Paris Saint Germain's first Champions League final.
"Losing is part of the sport, we try everything, we fight until the end. Thank you for the support and affection of each one of you and congratulations to Bayern," Neymar posted on Instagram.
Former PSG youth academy graduate Kingsley Coman scored the winner in the 59th minute as Bayern Munich registered a 1-0 win over Paris Saint Germain to become the first team to lift the Champions League with a 100% record.
The triumph also secured a second treble for the Germans, the Bundesliga and German Cup winners, and completed a remarkable first season for coach Hansi Flick.
Paris St Germain coach Thomas Tuchel, though, refused to blame Neymar for the defeat.
"Neymar has had a great tournament, he cannot do everything," the German said.
