Milind Soman is now the 'Ironman'

Bollywood actor and model, Milind Soman, has just added another feather to his already crowded cap.

The former national level swimmer can now be called 'Ironman'.

The 49-year-old has rightfully earned the title after successfully completing the 'Ironman Triathlon' held in Zurich on Sunday.

The said triathlon, considered one of the world's toughest sporting events, had 2,000 participants, including seven Indians.

Soman has been preparing for this competition for last few months. 

The triathlon includes a 3.8-km swim, a 180.2-km cycle ride and 42.2-km run, raced in that order, without a break. Participants are required to complete the triathlon within 16 hours to win the title of 'Ironman'.

The former supermodel completed the task 15 hours, 19 minutes and 29 seconds.

On finishing the challenge, he tweeted, "One Ironman - Done:) Beautiful experience, finished in 15hrs and19mins. Thank you for all your good wishes people, your love makes a difference!!!#50thYear #BecauseWeCan #Live2Inspire."

Soman has been practising for the race for the last few months and had been updating his fans about his progress through social media websites with pictures of his preparations.

Not new to distance running and a regular at the Mumbai Marathon, he ran 1500 km from Delhi to Mumbai to raise awareness about environmental issues in 2012.
