Frenchwoman Amelie Mauresmo has joined Victoria Azarenka's backroom team as a consultant, the world number one's practice partner Julien Jeanpierre told Reuters on Friday.
Former World No 1 Mauresmo will advise the Australian Open champion who has been preparing for next month's French Open at the Monte Carlo Country Club.
Belarussian Azarenka, 22, won her first grand slam title in Melbourne in January.
Mauresmo, who retired from tennis in 2009, won the Australian Open and Wimbledon crowns in 2006.
