Chandra defeated Belgium's Tomaz Skalski 4-2 in the 15-Red format, while Shahbaaz Adil Khan and Brijesh Damani lost their respective matches in the men's section.
Khan went down 2-4 to Brenden O'Donoghue of Ireland, while Damani was tamed by Germany's Roman Dietzel by an identical scoreline.
In the women's category, Varshaa Sanjeev became the first Indian to qualify for the next round as she blanked Maria Buckaraska of Ukraine 3-0.
Chitra M and Neena Praveen too were successful in conquering Yu Ching of Hong Kong (3-1) and Irina Gorbataya from Russia (3-1) respectively.
S A Saleem was the first to bow out of the competition after going down to tournament favourite Ian Sergeant from Wales 2-3 in the Masters category (above 40).
Nigel Lazar lost to Murat Ayas 1-3.
