After several flip-flops, Australia's world indoor long jump champion Fabrice Lapierre has finally confirmed his participation in the Delhi Commonwealth Games.
Lapierre had initially decided against competing but he was talked into committing for the event by Australia's Athletics Federation before he again expressed doubts about going to Delhi citing fatigue.
But the confusion finally ended on Thursday when he confirmed his trip to the Indian capital for the October 3 to 14 event during a meet at the Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre.
"I had a bit of doubt because mentally I was tired, but I had a bit of a break and took it easy," Lapierre was quoted as saying by The Daily Telegraph.
"Tonight I treated it like a bit of a training session and considering it was cold, and I had health issues, how I jumped tonight, I'm very happy with my form.
"I think I can go to the Commonwealth Games and win," he added.
