"I had earlier said that 60 is the age of retirement. I will take a decision when I return to India. I will talk to my president and other officials and also seek their views before taking a final decision," Sandhu said.

The eight-member Indian boxing contingent managed just one bronze medal in the Olympics through M C Mary Kom in women's boxing which has been introduced for the first time.

Sandhu said he expected more medals.

"Boxing is a religion for me. I have been involved in boxing for most part of my life. I can't go home happy because we have not won enough medals," Sandhu said.

"Overall, I am happy with the performance. There were a number of young boxers taking part in the Olympics for the first time. They boxed well but it could not translate into medals. I am responsible for that," he said.

Sandhu also thanked the Sports Ministry and Sports Authority of India (SAI) for the support and providing good infrastructure for training.
