Twenty-four year old jockey Madu Kumar of Hyderabad Race Club succumbed to injuries sustained after a fall while racing on November 28 at the Malakpet race course in Hyderabad, HRC sources said.

He died on Wednesday night in a hospital where he was undergoing treatment.

Kumar, while riding 'Greeku Verudu', had a fall when the horse clipped the hind legs of 'Riddle' during the Medak Plate (Divison I).

A product of HRC riding school, Kumar had 25 wins to his credit. He was a pet jockey trainer at Ananta Vatsalya and was to become a full jockey next week.

Expressing grief over the death of Kumar, HRC conveyed condolences to the bereaved members of the family.
