Eighteen-year-old Mumbai girl Megha Vakharia battled her way to a 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 victory over Russian Julia Vorobieva to move into the final of the US$ 10,000 Reliance ITF women's tournament in Bangalore on Friday.

In a semi-final clash between the two unseeded players, Vakharia exhibited tremendous tenacity to outwit her lanky opponent despite losing the first set, at the Karnataka State Lawn Association courts.

She will now meet fourth seeded Korean Da-Jung Hong in the title match.

In the other semi-final, Da-Jung was also stretched before prevailing over Uzbekistan's Akgul Amanmuradova, seeded number three, 1-6, 7-6 (7-6), 6-2.

Meanwhile, the top seeded Indian pair of Rushmi Chakravarti and Sai Jayalakshmy advanced to the doubles final, easily sidelining compatriots Shruti Dhawan and Sheetal Gautam 6-2, 6-2.
