India's Narang becomes Asia's No.1 shooter

Ace Indian shooter Gagan Narang has attained the top spot in men's 50m rifle prone shooting category in Asia.

The 32-year-old Narang topped the list with 971 points ahead of Shengbo Zhao of China, who has 896 points.

"Happy to be Asia No 1. Looking forward to improve next Season. Thank you for your support @OGQ_India," wrote Narang on his Twitter handle.  

Narang finished eight at the recently concludes World Cup final in Munich.

"Felt good to be the only Asian in the World Cup Final but not to good to finish 8 th . Working harder some good results", he tweeted last week.

Narang, who bagged the bronze medal in the 2012 London Olympics, secured himself a berth for next year's Rio Olympics after winning the bronze medal in the 50m rifle prone event of the ISSF World Cup at Fort Benning, USA, in May.
