The dismal show by the Indian women's team continued at the FIH Women's Champions Challenge 1 hockey tournament in Dublin, Ireland as they lost 0-2 to South Africa in a 5-8 position match, on Saturday.

South Africa scored once in each half through world record goal-scorer Pietie Coetzee from a penalty corner in the 23rd minute and Lesle-Ann George in the 67th minute.

It was different story for the Indians as strikers Saba Anjum, Rani Rampal, Jasjeet Kaur Handa and Chanchan Devi failed to find their rhythm and cohesion in the attacks.

The match was played under wet and drizzly conditions with India getting few chances in the soggy atmosphere.

The only note-worthy performance by India was when South Africa were thwarted by Indian goalkeeper Yogita Bali, who saved a penalty stroke taken by Coetzee in the 28th minute.

India will now play Azerbaijan on Sunday for the 7-8 position.
