Ace Indian paddler Achantha Sharath Kamal lost to Germany's Timo Boll 1-4 in the second round to crash out of the World Table Tennis Championships in Paris.
Sharath Kamal (69) got off to a flying start as he grabbed the first game 11-9 against the fifth seed.
The 30-year-old Indian continued to fight hard but lost the second game 10-12.
Sharath Kamal found the former World No 1 too hot to handle in the subsequent games, and, was floored 1-11, 5-11, 2-11 in the round of 64 match played on Thursday.
Earlier, India's mixed doubles pair of Soumyajit Ghosh and Mouma Das went down 2-4 to Peng Tang and Wing Nam NG of Hong Kong.
In their round of 32 match, the Indian duo tried hard to match their formidable opponents but lost the contest 8-11, 11-7, 8-11, 14-12, 9-11, 7-11.
