India bowed out of the Thomas Cup badminton championships after suffering a 0-3 thrashing by Malaysia in the quarterfinals in Macau.
India began on a losing note with Ajay Jayaram going down 12-21, 21-17, 8-21 to Chong Wei Lee in 47 minutes in the first match.
The doubles pair of Rupesh Kumar and Sanave Thomas put up a brave fight before losing 14-21, 21-23 to Kien Keat Koo and Boon Heong Tan in the second tie.
It was left to Parupalli Kashyap to salvage some pride for the Indians against their more fancied opponents but he too disappointed after a brief resistance as he went down 17-21, 21-18, 11-21 to Muhammad Hafiz Hashim in the third tie.
India will now play classification matches for the fifth to eighth places.
Indian women's team had also bowed out of the Uber Cup after finishing last in the three-team Group W as they lost both their ties against Malaysia and China.
