World No 1 men's shuttler Lee Chong Wei's coach Tey Seu Bock of Malaysia was appointed chief coach of Mumbai Masters for the inaugural Vodafone Indian Badminton League on Sunday.
Former Indian women national champion Aparna Popat will be the team advisor of the Mumbai side.
Tey Seu Bock, also former national coach of the Malaysian team, has a new challenge of leading a team with players from multi-cultural backgrounds to compete in the $1-million Vodafone IBL.
Speaking on his appointment as the chief coach of Mumbai Masters in the IBL, Tey Seu Bock, said, "It is an honour to be associated with a team which already has star players. It will be a new experience for me to travel with players from all across the world in an event which is taking badminton to a completely new level."
